The project's aim is to create a local food market in Mendrisio's tran station, using the existing space and settings as they are. With this intervetion we wanted to use the nearby buildings that are now without an actual use, this includes the building right in front of the station and the one on the other side of the railway. There are two typologies of markets, the first one is a temporary one, just in between the station ad the bus stop, and the second one is a covered market. Particular attention was put into the rethinking of the roofs, creating holes for the light flow where the space was too dark and extending the roofs to make them continuous all along the site.
