The project is located in Ljubljana, along the Ljubljanica canal. We created a lightweight structure, a continous element that bridges a part of the city wich is cast away with the peak overlooking Ljubljana. With a 4% slope the footbridge overpasses the canal, a railway and a street and in the end touches the mountain creating two trails in the woods. Along the canal the high vegetation allowed us to insert a public library under the footbridge, hidden by the trees this volume serves not only for the nearby university but also for the rest of the city. Inside we find small openings inside the bookshelfs which create a intimate relation between the person sitting at the desk and the nature. For a more generous light we created a series of high openings inspired by Plečnik's work at the National Library in Ljubljana.
Il progetto si trova a Lubiana, lungo il canale di Ljubljanica. Abbiamo creato un elemento continuo che collega una parte della città separata dalla natura con la montagna. Con una pendenza del 4%, il ponte pedonale passa sopra il canale, una ferrovia e una strada e alla fine tocca la montagna, creando due sentieri nel bosco. Lungo il canale, l'alta vegetazione ci ha permesso di inserire una biblioteca pubblica sotto il ponte pedonale, nascosta tra gli alberi. Questo volume serve non solo per l'università vicina ma anche per il resto della città. All'interno, troviamo piccole aperture tra gli scaffali che creano una relazione intima tra la persona seduta alla scrivania e la natura. Per una luce più generosa, abbiamo creato una serie di aperture alte ispirate all'opera di Plečnik alla Biblioteca Nazionale di Lubiana.
